WESTPORT — P-awww. Cuteness times eleven.

Eleven puppies under foster care of Westport Animal Shelter Advocates will meet the public Sunday, Sept. 11, at The Porch at Christie’s, 161 Cross Highway. The event is planned from 10 a.m. to noon.

A young Golden Retriever gave birth to the puppies two days after WASA took her into care. A vet tech at Schulhof Animal Hospital in Westport and her family oversaw the puppies’ birth and care of the mother (who they plan to adopt) and her litter.

The puppies — six males and five females — soon will be old enough to be adopted.

WASA will bring the puppies and other dogs available for adoption to The Porch to meet people interested in adopting one of the animals.

There will be no on-site adoptions Sunday, according to WASA.

There also will be a silent auction of New York Yankees collectibles to support WASA’s programs that care for homeless animals and promote their adoption.

Team Woofgang & Co. will be on hand selling dog treats, toys and accessories.
