“We congratulate all the of the participants of the contest and hope they all enjoyed this tasty promotion of Westport’s phenomenal restaurant scene,” Matthew Mandell, the chamber’s executive director, said in a statement announcing the contest winners.

Terribly boring storyline
Dear TODD,
Maybe this is the perfect time to teach you something your parents or caregivers may have forgotten to teach you: if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Out of all the things you could’ve said, that you chose to say you were bored is stunning. First, the Westport Journal brings us information every day that keeps us informed about our town. Today was something a little light sweet instead of all the other frustrations we have been experiencing. Second, these restaurants bust their chops every day to bring us their offerings and help this town be vibrant and interesting. Lastly Matt has been enthusiastically leading the chamber of commerce for years and years. Maybe you should adjust your comment and add a kind word in addition to your criticism, that’s another skill sometimes people use.
Best burger in westport contest is so unimaginative. Even your reaction to my coment shows more creativity.
Best burger and best cheesburger categories.. come on this is ridiculous
You are right, iwill adjust my comments on the matter at hand.
The first time I went into Match I ordered a burger and fries. It was by by far the greatest burger I had ever had. It was just perfect. Tasty, deliciously scrumptious, so much so, that I had decided, right then and there, that Match was my favorite restaurant in Westport. The fries were cooked to perfection. I’ m not even sure how they did it. Sometimes things are are just so much better in so many ways it makes ddescription difficult. My only suggestion would be, to Westporters , if you havent tried it, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to the flavor and perfection of the perfect hamburger.
The Black Duck is also hone of one of Westport’s best burgers. I have been going there for years. I remember seeing Wolfie live on TV playing collage football. Mike Connors, wow, larger than life. His personality made a person feel welcome at the most exclusive club in the world. Normally I drink Whisky, lots of it. However, sometimes on a Sunday, I find myself stumbling up to that bar, even with Mike gone now, and ordering a juicy Black Duck Burger. Wiw, that is a treat on a Sunday afternoon. Best to drink on a full stomach.
As far as Shake Shack goes, it is consistant and good. Great actually. Dont park across the street and risk the Post Road, just wait for a parking spot. The burgers are so good, people try to park at Child World. But once safely at your table, waiting for your buzzer to vibrate, signalling to your brain that food nirvana is about to happen, you will soon sink your chompers into that burger heaven. And the chocolate shakes are to die for.
