Examples of art work by artists who will participate in the Westport Woman Club’s eighth annual Art Show from May 5-7.

WESTPORT — A weekend-long arts showcase is planned May 5-7 when the Westport Woman’s Club hosts its eighth annual Art Show.

The event, featuring a variety of work by local artists, is set for 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 5, and 2-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 6-7, at the clubhouse, 44 Imperial Ave. There is no admission fee.

Music throughout the three-day show will be performed by pianist Mark Naftalin, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee.

Participating artists donate a portion of their sales to fund the club’s community service grants, scholarships and charitable donations.

Staples High School seniors Mia Vindiola, left, and Chloe Hackett will receive $10,000 scholarships from Drew Friedman Community Arts Center.

The show is curated by artist Miggs Burroughs, a co-founder of the Artists Collective of Westport and member of the Westport Arts Advisory Committee.

During the show’s May 5 opening reception, Staples High School seniors Mia Vindiola and Chloe Hackett will be presented $10,000 scholarships funded by the Drew Friedman Community Arts Center. The scholarships, being presented for a sixth year, are part of the center’s “mission to fulfill the late Drew Friedman’s vision to support and encourage young artists wishing to pursue art as a career,” according to a publicity release.

Among the artists scheduled to display their work, which will be available for sale, are: Nina Bentley, Ola Bossio, Michael Brennecke, Ellen Ehli, Susan Fehlinger, Hernan Garcia, Erzsebet Laurinyecz, Katya Lebrija, Tina Puckett, Jon Puzzuoli, Agata Tria and Dorothy Robertshaw.
