WESTPORT — “StoryFest ’24,” the Westport Library’s annual celebration of all things literary, opened its latest chapter Friday night.
The keynote program of what is described as New England’s largest gathering of authors and literature lovers featured Roxane Gay, best-selling author and essayist, in conversation with Oliver Radclyffe, who recently published a memoir, “Frighten the Horses.”
The second day of StoryFest continues Saturday with an eclectic mix of panel discussions by writers and literary figures across a broad range of genres.
Highlights will include a tribute to the late Sybil Steinberg, longtime editor of Publisher’s Weekly and critic, known locally for her “Sybil’s List” compilations of recommended reading at the library.

The 2024 “Westport Prize for Literature” will be presented to Alejandro Puyana for his debut novel, “Freedom is a Feast.”
