Attractions at Westport Country Playhouse in coming weeks include, clockwise from upper left: a conversation with Westport writer Emily Liebert; a screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller, “Rear Window,” and actor John Rapson’s dramatic presentation of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” and other eerie stories.

WESTPORT — A best-selling author from Westport, a screening of a classic Hitchcock movie and a rendition of spooky tales are among the coming attractions at Westport Country Playhouse.

They include: 

“Perfectly Westport,” 7 p.m. Sept. 30:  Emily Liebert, novelist, ghost writer and Westporter, will be interviewed by Samantha Yanks, editor of Westport, Weston and Wilton magazine and co-founder of the Connecticut Edit.

Liebert will discuss her novels, which most recently include “Perfectly Famous” and “Pretty Revenge,” as well as her career as a ghost writer and collaborator for celebrities’ best-selling books and as a magazine editor and writer.

“Rear Window,” 7 p.m. Oct. 2: Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 thriller, starring Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly, will be screened.

Afterward, a discussion about the film and Hitchcock will be led Mark Shanahan, the playhouse artistic director, who previously taught a course about the director at Fordham University.

“Ghost Stories and Legends,” 7 p.m. Oct. 10: Actor John Rapson will present his version of Washington Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” along with other ghostly tales.

The dramatic presentation will unfold in the atmospheric environs of the candlelit playhouse barn.
