WESTPORT — A tribute concert to legendary folk musicians Peter, Paul and Mary will be performed May 10 at Voices Café.
The concert, featuring a lineup of veteran folk singers, will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at the café in the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Westport, 10 Lyons Plains Road. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets can be reserved in advance online by clicking here. Coffee and refreshments are available for purchase, and attendees can bring their own beverages and snacks.
Performers for the “Power of Song for Justice” concert will include Peter and Maura Kennedy, David Tamulevich and Libby Glover of Mustard’s Retreat and Suzanne Sheridan of Westport. They will share “their experiences through song, bringing alive once again the power of song for justice,” according to publicity for the event.
Peter, Paul and Mary, formed in 1961 when Peter Yarrow, Noel (Paul) Stookey and Mary Travers joined their talents, gained prominence among the activist voices of that era calling for civil rights and an end to America’s incursion in Southeast Asia.
