WESTPORT — “VersoFest 2023,” a four-day musical festival and conference hosted by the Westport Library’s Verso Studios, will showcase a diverse lineup of rock performers and related programs March 30-April 2.

The festival, featuring musical performances March 30 and 31, will continue at the library April 1 and 2 with related programs, workshops, and special events, according to organizers.

All activities will take place at the library, 20 Jesup Road.

Here’s a rundown of VersoFest events:

  • Sunflower Bean, a Brooklyn-based trio, will perform the kickoff concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 30. Hysterica will be the in-house disc jockey for the evening.

The young band performed at the 2022 South by Southwest festival, and its most recent release, “Headful of Sugar,” was named No. 41 in Rolling Stone’s list of 100 Best Albums last year.

  • The Smithereens, a New Jersey-based band that rose to rock stardom with hits in the 1980s and ’90s like “Only a Memory,” “A Girl Like You” and “Too Much Passion,” will headline the concert at 7 p.m. Friday, March 31.

Marshall Crenshaw, singer and songwriter known for music like “Someday, Someway” and “Till I Hear It From You,” will step in as lead singer with the Smithereens for the event.

First performer of the night will be singer/songwriter Amilia K. Spicer, and DJ for the evening will be Miriam Linna.

  • Steve Lillywhite, record producer for legendary musicians including the Rolling Stones, Talking Heads, Peter Gabriel, U2 and the Dave Matthews Band, will appear at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 1, for the VersoFest keynote presentation at the library.

He will discuss his career and stories from the music world with Chris Frantz, drummer for Talking Heads and the Tom Tom Club.

  • A range of panel discussions, master classes and special programs on topics ranging from songwriting and photography to record collections and production techniques — even a light show — also are planned throughout Saturday and Sunday, April 1-2.
