WESTPORT — A reception to mark two new Westport Library exhibits of work by members of the Artists Collective of Westport will take place March 8.

The event is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, at the library, 20 Jesup Road. To register for the free reception, click here.

The concurrent exhibits will showcase art by collective members throughout all three of the library’s galleries. They will be on display through May 9.

“Piece by Piece,” a 6-by-10-foot installation composed of 12-by-12-inch works contributed by 60 collective members, will be revealed at the reception. Each piece, replicating part of a larger, musical-themed painting, was created by an artist in their own style and without knowing what the assembled installation might look like.

The 12-by-12-inch pieces will be available for purchase after the installation is revealed. A square will cost $100, with 50 percent of the proceeds supporting the library’s art programs and the remainder going to the artist, according to the library’s website.

“Music to Our Eyes” is the second Artists Collective exhibit at the library, and the artwork on display also has musical themes, in parallel with the library’s VersoFest. These works also can be purchased, with a percentage of the proceeds benefiting the library.
