WESTPORT — A singer/songwriter who grew up in Westport returns home Aug. 4 as the featured artist for the next “First Folk Sunday” concert.
Lisa Bastoni, an award-winning Staples High School graduate now based in Northamption, Mass., will perform with Sean Staples at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at the Saugatuck Rowing Club, 521 Riverside Ave. A performance by Suzanne Sheridan, the concert series organizer, will open the event.

An à la carte menu and open bar will be available.
Bastoni, coincidentally, remembers seeing Sheridan perform at a local protest nearly a quarter-century ago, according to event organizers.
“I was just a kid, but I was at the anti-war rally you organized in 2001 on Jesup Green when Suzanne sang. I thought she was wonderful,” Bastoni is quoted as saying in publicity for the concert.
Since then she has been a New England Music Award nominee (Roots) in 2023 and ’22, a Boston Music Award Nominee (Folk) in 2020 and ’19, and 2019 New Folk winner at the Kerrville Folk Festival. She is also a visual artist and teacher.
