WESTPORT — A series of events planned in conjunction with Black History Month in February will showcase work by emerging Black artists at MoCA CT.

The programs will focus “on the rich cultural contributions and creativity of the African diaspora,” according to the announcement by the museum, 19 Newtown Turnpike.

The scheduled events include:

“DELA: The Making of El Anatsui,” 7 p.m. Feb. 13: Documentary about Ghanaian sculptor El Anatsui will be screened, followed by a question-and-answer period with film maker Oyiza Adaba from Africa Related Inc. To register, click here.

Soulful Expressions, 7 p.m. Feb. 15: A varied program featuring poetry by Sahmra Sawyer, music by pianist Joe Bush, dance by Jeffline Saint Louis, food by Jamaican chef Dré Sawyers and sketching by Erika McGhee. Afterward, there will be dancing. To register, click here.

Upcycling sculpture workshop and exhibition tour, 1 p.m. Feb. 22: Artist Remy Sosa will lead the workshop, starting with a guided tour of MoCA’s current exhibits, “On Fire: Energy, Climate, Infrastructure” and “Human and Nature: A Changing Relationship,” focusing on the environmental impact of recycled materials.
