WESTPORT–A paraprofessional caregiver has been charged with physically mistreating her intellectually disabled client at the Weston Westport Family YMCA, 14 Allen Raymond Lane, Westport police said.

Staff members at the YMCA called police on Saturday, July 18, and reported that the caregiver, Elisa Feinman, 68, was allegedly mistreating her client. Investigators reviewed surveillance video to help identify Feinman, and a warrant was issued for her arrest, according to a release from police.

Feinman reported to the Westport Police Headquarters voluntarily on Tuesday, July 21. She was charged with third-degree abuse of persons and third-degree assault of an intellectually disabled person, both misdemeanors, police said.

According to the police, she posted a $50,000 bond and is due in Superior Court in Stamford on July 31.
