
NEW HAVEN — Described as one of the leading violinists of his generation, Augustin Hadelich will be the special guest at an upcoming New Haven Symphony Orchestra concert.
The concert will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22nd, at Woolsey Hall. Music Director Perry So leads a program that includes Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 “Pastoral,” and Raven Chacon’s Inscription.
Hadelich was born in Italy to German parents and began studying violin at an early age. He later studied at The Juilliard School and gained international attention after a series of major competition wins, as well as a Grammy Award win for his recording of Henri Dutilleux’s Violin Concerto L’arbre des songes. Hadelich has been celebrated for performances that “combine technical brilliance with remarkable expressive depth.”
Ticket prices range from $15 to $79, and $10 for college students. Admission is free for active military and immediate family, as well as youth under the age of 18 with purchase of an adult ticket. For more information, click here.
