Anime-style art displayed at Westport Book Shop

WESTPORT — Anime-inspired artwork is displayed in the August artist-of-the-month exhibit at the Westport Book Shop.

Rachel Waldman’s drawings influenced by Japanese anime will be featured through the end of the month at the shop, 23 Jesup Road.

A reception for the exhibit will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20. To register to attend, call 203-349-5141 or email bookshop@westportbooksaleventures.org.

Waldman, a Westport native, says she became interested in anime after seeing the movie, “Kiki’s Delivery Service.” Her artwork takes the form of freehand drawings, water colors and digital art.

A graduate of Eagle Hill and Maplebrook schools, she currently attends Transition CT and is a member of Club 203.
