WESTPORT — A home-health aide has been charged with illegally using a credit card that belonged to the local resident for whom she was caring.

Tylette Monique Jacobs, 20, of Bridgeport, has been charged with second-degree larceny, illegal use of a credit card and receiving goods obtained by illegal use of a credit card.

Police initiated an investigation last October after receiving a complaint by a resident that unauthorized charges were made with their credit card. The charges exceeded $1,000, according to the report.

The complainant told police that several home-health aides were working in the home at the time unauthorized charges were made, including Jacobs, who police said had recently been employed there.

Investigators, using search warrants, were able to develop evidence linking Jacobs to the illegal credit card purchases, police said.

A warrant for the arrest of Jacobs was issued, and she turned herself in March 29 at Police Department headquarters.

She was released after posting $50,000 and is scheduled to arraigned April 10 at state Superior Court in Stamford.
