
WESTPORT — A 35-year-old man was charged after police investigated what was described as a “domestic violence” incident.
Ryan Smith, of Westport, was charged with third-degree strangulation and disorderly conduct in connection with the March 18 events.
Based on the investigation, police said they determined that Smith allegedly grabbed the victim by “the chest/neck area” and pushed the person.
After Smith was formally charged, he was released on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear March 27 at state Superior Court in Stamford.
