WESTPORT – The 9-2 Ludlowe Falcons came to Staples last night and dominated the Lady Wreckers. A stellar performance from Ludlowe juniors Rory Kudzy, Kaleigh Sommers and Caitlin Finnegan proved to be too much for the home team. Staples scrambled against Ludlowe’s defense for the entire game.

Junior Scarlett Siegel was a bright spot for Staples, leading the team with 12 points. Staples seemed poised for a comeback with a run in the third quarter, bringing the game within nine points. However, Ludlowe’s height, aggressive defense and ability to score from both the perimeter and the paint never allowed the Wreckers to gain full traction.

As a result of COVID-19 restrictions continuing to loosen, tonight’s game welcomed back student spectators for the first time since Jan. 3.

The 7-6 Lady Wreckers will take on Fairfield Warde on Tuesday night at home at 7:00 p.m.
