GREENWICH — The Greenwich Arts Council is bringing back its 29th edition of Art to the Avenue, a celebration of local arts that turns downtown Greenwich into a strolling gallery.

The opening night festivities run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 7th. The event will take place rain or shine.

Live music during the festivities will include the R&B band Nine of Hearts performing in front of the Greenwich Arts Council at 299 Greenwich Avenue, the Grace Notes Choir at the corner of West Elm Street and Greenwich Avenue, and Greg DeTroy and Mike & Vin along Lewis Street and West Putnam Avenue.

Numerous local businesses and venues make Art to the Avenue possible by showcasing artwork, including restaurants, banks, stores, and libraries. The artwork will be displayed through May 25th. All of the pieces on display are for sale, with 30 percent of each sale benefiting Greenwich Arts Council programming.
