NEW CANAAN — The Staples High girls soccer team, seeded No. 2 in the FCIAC Tournament, blanked No. 6 Darien 2-0 in the semifinals at neutral site New Canaan High on Wednesday night.

Natalie Chudowsky scored both goals. Evelyn Chudowsky had the first assist and Annabel Edwards notched the second assist.

The Wreckers earned a rematch with top-seeded St. Joseph Cadets, who defeated Staples in last year’s conference title game.

The teams will meet at 5 p.m. Friday in New Canaan. The rivals played to a 1-1 tie in their Oct. 18 meeting. (Game schedules are subject to change; click for the latest CIAC updates.)
