Wreckers boys lacrosse crushes Fairfield Warde, 16-3

FAIRFIELD — The Staples High boys lacrosse team walloped host Fairfield Warde, 16-3, on Tuesday.

The Wreckers improved to 3-0, registering double-digit scoring in all of their contests to begin the spring.

Sam Eigen logged four goals, Gavin Rothenberg had three goals and an assist, and Tyler Clark netted a pair to go along with four assists. Ben Burmeister scored twice and Mike Nealon had a goal and an assist. Charlie Iannone assisted on a pair of tallies.

Staples will host Massapequa, N.Y., on Thursday and entertain FCIAC rival Darien two days later in a Saturday battle — both at 5 p.m.
