MIDDLETOWN–The two singles players representing Staples in the CIAC’s individual invitational tennis tournament won their matches this afternoon at Wesleyan University.
According to head coach Kris Hrisovulos, Tighe Brunetti won his match 6-1, 6-0 over Joshua Beardon of Branford 6-1, 6-0 and Robbie Daus won his match when his opponent, Christian Kaverud of Glastonbury, retired with an injury at 6-2 2-0.
The singles matches resume tomorrow at noon. The Staples doubles team of Luke Brodsky and Alex Guadarrama face off against South Windsor’s Vrishala Murali and Sri Sripada, at 1:30 tomorrow.
