NORWALK — Led by Trey Wilson’s four goals, the Staples High hockey team skated past host Norwalk-Brien McMahon, 7-3, at the SoNo Ice House late Wednesday night.

Harry Goodburn scored twice and Shane Power added a goal for the Wreckers.

Tyler DiMaio had two assists and Brett Malizia, Uzi Greenman, Power, Jacob Gomez, Jameson Russell and Felix Haug all notched assists.

Goaltender Mason Mountain was a beast in net and made 41 saves.

The Wreckers led 3-0 after one period of play and built a 4-0 lead before Norwalk-McMahon cut the deficit in half.

The score was 4-2 heading to the third, and Staples put the game on ice with a trio of unanswered tallies in the final stanza.

With the win, Staples improved to 4-6 for the season, and will host Southington-Coginchaug-Westbrook at Milford Ice Pavilion at 6 p.m. Saturday. (Game schedules are subject to change; click for the latest CIAC updates.)
