NORWALK — The Staples High girls basketball team poured in 10 shots from the 3-point range in a 61-46 win at Norwalk on Thursday.

Emma Asiel hit one of those from long range, finishing with a career-high 13 points.

Freya Harvey and Sarah VonDohlen each scored 11, with Harvey draining a pair of 3-pointers and VonDohlen making a trio of baskets from behind the arc. Harvey also handed out seven assists in a balanced scoring attack.

Ella Harrington made two 3-pointers and finished with eight points, registering all of her scoring in a 21-point second-quarter outburst as the Wreckers established a commanding 35-14 halftime lead.

Chloe Smith added seven points, connecting once from downtown. Aviva Ross added a 3-pointer and had four points.

Norwalk was led by Kamiya Balcombe who accounted for half of her team’s scoring with 23 points.

Staples is back at it with a quick turnaround when Stamford visits at 7 p.m. Friday. (Game schedules are subject to change; click for the latest CIAC updates.)
