Staples girls basketball celebrates Senior Night with victory

WESTPORT — Sparked by a career-high 26 points from Scarlett Siegel, the Staples High girls basketball team Thursday defeated visiting Brien McMahon, 61-40, to celebrate the team’s Senior Night.

Seniors Siegel, Jaden Mello, Tori Emmert and Claire Sandaus were honored.

The Wreckers made it four wins in their last five games, and improved to 6-10 overall. Staples hosts Trumbull at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7.
