WESTPORT–Two goals and an assist from Avery Mueller – all within the first 18 minutes – paced the Staples High School boys soccer team to a 6-0 win over St. Joseph today, at Wakeman Field.

Dylan Hoke added the third goal, from fellow junior Mueller. Sophomore Jonny Costello then added two more. Fellow 10th grader Sam Rossoni rounded out the scoring.

Other assists came from Matt Shackelford, Santi Alfageme, Hunter Smith and Zach Gorin.

The win lifts the Wreckers’ record to 6-5-1. They travel to Norwalk on Monday, for a 6:30 encounter with the 10-0-3 Bears.
