WESTPORT — Staples boys basketball won for the 16th time this season, defeating Westhill of Stamford, 59-36, Monday. 

With the victory, the Wreckers improved to 12-2 in FCIAC play and 16-3 overall.

Staples led 16-11 after one quarter and held Westhill to just three points in the second, pulling ahead 30-14 at the half.

Adam Udell scored 17 points and had three rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals. 

Dhilan Lowman scored 16 points — knocking down four 3-pointers — and had seven rebounds and three steals. Mason Tobias logged 10 points and eight rebounds.

Staples will visit Ridgefield (14-0 in the FCIAC) in Wednesday’s regular season finale at 7 p.m. (Game schedules are subject to change; click for the latest CIAC updates.)
