STAMFORD–Staples Field Hockey defeated Stamford Tuesday. 

Staples controlled the play all game but Stamford keyed on defense for much of the game.  The Wrecker’s relentless attack finally broke through in the fourth quarter. Staples pulled away with multiple goals and won handily, 6-1. 

Jess Leon notched another hat trick and assisted on two of the other goals. Sofia Fidalgo, Charlotte Strange and Lily Harrington each scored one goal. Emma Larit, Harrington and Strange also had assists

Staples improved its record to 8-1-1. 

Staples next travels to Trumbull, Wednesday 10/13 to meet an improved Trumbull team for a 7 p. m. game under the lights.
