
FAIRFIELD–The Staples boys varsity tennis team is very very good.
The five-time defending state champs have waltzed through the first two rounds of this year’s Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference championship tournament. On Tuesday, they hosted and whipped the Ridgefield Tigers, 7-0.
Yesterday, they played away at Fairfield Prep and won 7-0.

According to Staples coach Kris Hrisovulos, Tighe Brunetti, Robbie Daus, Noah Wolff and Matthew Chiang each won their singles matches and Luke Brodsky / Alex Guadarrama, Brett Lampert / Lucas Ceballos-Cala and Hayden Frey / Jared Even all won their doubles matches.

Daus and Wolff both played love sets–beating their opponents 6-0, 6-0.
Staples will play at home Friday at 3 p.m. against Enfield, who beat #1 ranked Amity on Thursday.
