2 Owenoke Park
The custom colonial at 2 Owenoke Park will soon be razed to make way for a new home. It recently sold for $3.1 million, making it one of Westport’s pricier tear-downs.

WESTPORT — Representatives of the owners of the property at 2 Owenoke Park described at Wednesday’s meeting of the Flood and Erosion Control Board a plan to demolish the current house and rebuild “a new single-family dwelling with a pool, patio, and driveway.”

A sign on the house states that a demolition permit application will be filed with the Building Department on Friday.

Part of the two-story custom Colonial was built in 1910. It has 4,400 square feet of living space, a crawl space, a flow-through crawl space, garage, open porch, wood deck, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two half-bathrooms and a finished upper story.

The property traded June 27 for $3,112,500. It previously traded for $1,375,000 in 1998. The current assessment is $1,722,000.

Many Westporters are familiar with this house as it is the first house on Owenoke Park, just off the 90-degree bend in Compo Beach Road.
