WESTPORT–The Building Department has issued a permit to demolish the house at 32 Woodside Avenue.
The 1¾-story cape was built in 1850. It has 1,900-square-feet of living space, three bedrooms, two baths, a basement area, a crawl space, an open porch, an enclosed porch, a screen porch and a ¾ story.
The Historic District Commission reviewed the owner’s application for a demolition permit in February 2016. At that time, the commission upheld the 180-day waiting period imposed on all houses more than 50 years old. The waiting period ended in 2016.
Two one-room studios, built in the 1980’s, are also part of the demolition plan.
The property traded hands in October 2002 for $559,000. The property’s current assessment is $468,400.
Woodside Avenue connects Kings Highway N and Stonybrook Road.
