WESTPORT — Westport Journal reported incorrectly that the Building Department had issued a permit to demolish the house at 148 Bayberry Lane. The Building Department has issued a permit to demolish two sheds at this property.

The two-story contemporary was built in 1955. It has 4,800 square feet of living space, six bedrooms, four bathrooms, a basement, crawl space, open porch, screened porch, wood deck, finished upper story and two sheds.

The property traded hands in 2020 for $1,010,000. It had previously traded for $1,005,000 in 2005 and for $263,000 in 1984. The property’s current assessment is $655,700.
