
WESTPORT — Candidates running for local seats in the state General Assembly this fall will debate Oct. 18 in a forum sponsored by the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce and the Westport Library.
The free political forum will take place at noon Tuesday, Oct. 18, in the library, and also is scheduled to be available on Vimeo.
Balloting in this year’s elections, which also include races for the U.S. Senate, 4th Congressional District, governor and statewide constitutional offices, will take place Nov. 8.
Candidates scheduled to participate in the local forum are:
26th state Senate District: Democrat Ceci Maher and Republican Toni Boucher, who previously held the seat.
136th state House of Representatives District: incumbent Democrat Jonathan Steinberg and Republican Alma Sarelli.
143rd state House of Representatives District: Democrat Dominique Johnson and Republican Nicole Hampton.
The debate will be moderated by Matthew Mandell, executive director of the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce.
