
WESTPORT — A Norwalk woman is accused of stealing a purse at a downtown restaurant during lunchtime.
Peggy Bradford, 67, was charged May 6 with third-degree larceny in connection with the incident.
On April 6, police were dispatched shortly before 1 p.m. to investigate the report of a purse theft at Nômade restaurant on Main Street. A customer told officers that a purse left on a table had been stolen.
Investigators used recordings of the restaurant’s video surveillance and information shared with other law-enforcement agencies, to identify Peggy Bradford, according to the report.
A warrant for Bradford’s arrest was issued, and she turned herself in May 6 at Police Department headquarters.
She was released after posting $50,000 bond, and was scheduled to have been arraigned May 16 at state Superior Court in Stamford.
