WESTPORT — A Stamford woman faces charges in connection with what police describe as “a domestic violence incident” earlier this month.

Sherline Lorius, 47, was charged April 19 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Officers were dispatched April 19 to investigate the report of a domestic disturbance at a local home.

When police arrived at the scene, the victim reported the suspect — identified as Sherline Lorius — had left the scene, but during an earlier argument had  pushed the victim, causing minor facial injuries, according to the report.

A bulletin for Lorius’s whereabouts was issued to area law-enforcement agencies, and her vehicle was later spotted by Monroe police passing through that town. Lorius was taken into custody and turned over to Westport police. She was subsequently formally charged at Police Department headquarters.

Lorius, released after posting $5,000 bond, was scheduled to appear April 22 at state Superior Court in Stamford.
