WESTPORT — Three out-of-state women are charged with shoplifting at the local Lululemon store after they were stopped fleeing the scene last week.

Amani Dye, 22, of Jamaica, N.Y.; Destiny Gantt, 21, of Jamaica, N.Y., and Saphire Vazquez, 21, of Bushkill, Pa., were each charged with third-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny in connection with the Sept. 12 incident.

Officers were dispatched to investigate the report of a shoplifting in progress at the Lululemon store, 69 Main St., about 2 p.m. Sept. 12.

A description of the suspects, as well as of their car and its registration plate, was provided to police.

At approximately the same time, the suspects’ vehicle was spotted on Riverside Avenue, where it was pulled over.

Police found “obvious evidence of the crime [including] clothing with tags still affixed and three suspects who were later positively identified by witnesses,” according to the report.

The three women were taken into custody, formally charged and later released after each posted $2,500 bond. The trio is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 26 at state Superior Court in Stamford.
