WESTPORT — A 26-year-old man faces a series of charges for what allegedly was several years of physical and mental abuse toward a former live-in companion, police said.
Jack Dehler, of Westport, was charged March 1 with second-degree assault, second-degree threatening, second-degree strangulation, second-degree unlawful restraint and interfering with an emergency call.
The charges were filed after what police said was a “comprehensive investigation” into the complaint reported last Sept. 15, according to the report.
A warrant for Dehler’s arrest was issued and he turned himself in March 1 at Police Department headquarters. He was released after posting $100,000 bond and was scheduled to have appeared March 3 at state Superior Court in Stamford.
