WESTPORT — A concert benefiting the Orphenians, the 65-year-old Staples High School vocal ensemble and the singers’ plans to travel to a music festival in Spain this spring, is planned March 30.
The “Cabaret Olé” concert, featuring several guest performers as well as the 39-member Orphenians, will take place at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at Christ & Holy Trinity Church, 75 Church Lane.
Tickets can be purchased in advance online by clicking here. Donations also will be accpeted to support the Orphenians’ plans. The fundraiser will also feature an auction.
Proceeds from the event will enable all members of the Orphenians, regardless of their financial means, to make the trip to perform at the Spain Choral Festival directed by Rollo Dilworth in June, according to the concert announcement.
The vocal group Voces8, a Grammy Award-nominated British ensemble, also will perform. A portion of the concert proceeds will benefit the Voces8 Foundation, a charity dedicated to music education.
Also scheduled to appear are Mary Kate Morrissey, who has portrayed Elphaba in “Wicked” on Broadway, and Dan Micciche, music director and conductor for “Wicked” on Broadway.
Jamie Mann, an Orphenians alumnus and performer in “Stranger Things: The First Shadow” on Broadway, will close out the cabaret.
