WESTPORT — A 28-year-old man who police said punched another person during a disturbance at a local home where children were present last week has been arrested on several charges.
Sheridan Webb, of Bridgeport, was charged Aug. 20 with third-degree assault, three counts of risk of injury to a child, disorderly conduct and criminal violation of a protective order.
The incident unfolded shortly after 1 a.m. Aug. 19 when police were dispatched to investigate a disturbance at a local residence where Webb is alleged to have punched another person in the face, according to the report.
Webb, who was not at the scene when officers arrived, was the subject of a protective order barring him from being at the home of the person he allegedly struck, police said.
Officers also learned there were children under 16 years old in the home at the time of the argument, police said.
Police unsuccessfully searched the area for Webb in the aftermath of the incident.
A warrant for his arrest was issued, and he turned himself in at Police Department headquarters on the afternoon of Aug. 20.
Webb was released after posting $25,000 bond, and was scheduled to have been arraigned Aug. 22 at state Superior Court in Stamford.
