WESTPORT — A Bridgeport man was charged with breach of peace after a dispute over a bill at a local business turned physical.
Glenn Leonard, 62, was charged May 6 with second-degree breach of peace in connection with an incident at Minuteman Cleaners in March, police said.
A complaint was lodged with police about a March 27 incident at the cleaners, where a customer — identified as Leonard — began to argue with an employee over the amount charged, police said.
Leonard allegedly contended the fee was higher than the amount he was originally quoted, according to the report. When the employee refused to turn the items over to Leonard, police said he allegedly grabbed the items, “causing minor injuries” to the employee, and left the business.
A warrant for Leonard’s arrest was issued, and he turned himself in May 6 at Police Department headquarters.
He was formally charged and released after a promise to appear May 29 at state Superior Court in Stamford.
