WESTPORT — A 21-year-old Westport man, reported missing Thursday by his family after he had not been heard from for several days, was located “unharmed” Friday.

In a brief statement issued about 2 p.m. Friday, police said Anthony Cochrane had been located out of state.

Cochrane was reported missing Thursday afternoon, after police were contacted by his family who said he had not been seen or heard from since last Sunday.

He was dropped off near the Saugatuck Railroad Station about 3:45 p.m. Sunday and then entered nearby Romanacci’s restaurant, according to the report.

The young man was presumed to be planning to take a train to New York City or Washington, D.C., but police said at the time it could not be confirmed if he actually had left the area.

Police provided no more information about the incident.
