Occupants escape fiery car crash on Ford Road

WESTPORT — A vehicle burst into flames after a crash on Ford Road about midnight Tuesday, but the occupants escaped with “minor injuries,” according to a post on the Fire Department’s Facebook page.

Firefighters’ photos of the incident appear to show the fire fully enveloped the vehicle.

The incident apparently took place at the Saugatuck River Trout Management Area off Ford Road.

The occupants were able to exit the vehicle before fire crews and police arrived on the scene, according to the Facebook post. No other details were immediately available.
