WESTPORT — A ceremony to inaugurate promotions in the Police Department’s command staff, including new Chief David Farrell, will take place May 23.

The swearing-in ceremony for Farrell and four other top police officials is set for 4 p.m. Friday, May 23, in Town Hall’s auditorium, 110 Myrtle Ave. First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker will preside.

Farrell takes on the chief’s job vacated by Foti Koskinas after nine years in the post. Koskinas is slated to become chief of the Easton Police Department.

Also being officially promoted at the event are: Capt. David Wolf, who is a new deputy chief, and Lieuts. Eric Woods and Jillian Cabana, who become captains. Cabana is the first woman to attain the rank of captain in the department’s history. Cpl. Rachel Hall will become a detective.
