NORWALK — A multi-car crash about 4:50 p.m. Monday closed several lanes of the Post Road near the Westport town line.

It appeared a four-door Honda Accord was struck on the driver’s front and rear doors. Firefighters used extrication tools to pry open the crushed driver’s door. 

It appeared a van and a Volkswagen Beetle might have been involved.

Police from Norwalk and Westport closed three lanes of Westport Avenue, and alternately let traffic through.

An ambulance left the scene heading toward Norwalk Hospital about 4:20 p.m.

The crash occurred near the driveway of Pepperidge Farm, about 200 feet from the Westport town line.
