WESTPORT — A 42-year-old man faces strangulation and assault charges in connection with an altercation last month, police said.

Felix Vasquez, of Westport, has been charged with second-degree strangulation, third-degree and breach of peace.

Officers were dispatched about 7:45 p.m. Feb. 3 to a local address where a physical disturbance reportedly was taking place in the street.

Although there was no one on site when officers arrived, they shortly were able to identify the two people involved in the dispute, according to the report, and that Vasquez allegedly had attacked the other person.

A warrant was issued for the4 arrest of Vasquez, and he turned himself in March 3 at Police Department headquarters.

He was released after posting $5,000 bond and was scheduled to have been arraigned on the charges the next day at state Superior Court in Stamford.
