
WESTPORT — Firefighters made a “below-grade rescue” after being dispatched on a medical-emergency call at a Crestwood Road construction site Saturday morning.
The incident, reported shortly before 8:30 a.m. Saturday, initially prompted Engine 6 to be dispatched to the scene, according to the report by Assistant Fire Chief Brian Meadows.
After determining a person was injured below grade at the construction site, Rescue 3, Engine 2 and Car 3 also were sent to the scene.
Firefighters, assisted by Westport EMS and police personnel, provided care to the person, who was hoisted to ground level and then transported to the hospital.
The rescued person’s condition was not immediately available.
