WESTPORT — A Bridgeport man has been charged with assaulting a co-worker at a Saugatuck Avenue construction site.
Michael Gomes-Liandro, 24, was charged with second-degree assault.
Police were dispatched to investigate a report April 23 that a man was injured after falling off a roof at a construction site on Saugatuck Avenue.
At the scene, however, officers learned the injured man had been struck on the arm with a metal pipe. The man accused as the assailant was a co-worker, identified as Gomes-Liandro, according to the police report.
Gomes-Liandro had left the scene before officers arrived on the scene, but was located a short time later at the Saugatuck Railroad Station and taken into custody, police said.
He was released after posting $75,000 bond, and is scheduled to be arraigned May 2 at state Superior Court in Stamford.
