WESTPORT — A stretch of Wilton Road is blocked indefinitely Monday afternoon by a fallen tree that became entangled in power lines.

Police, in a traffic alert issued just before 3 p.m. Monday, said the closure affects Wilton Road, between Partrick Road and River Lane.

The incident at one point knocked out power to nearly 200 area customers, according to Eversource.

The power company’s repair crews were on the scene, police said.

There was no immediate indication when repairs will be completed or when the street can be reopened to traffic, police said.
