WESTPORT — A Compo Road South structure fire, apparently ignited by power lines torn down by a fallen tree Tuesday afternoon, has closed part of the road to traffic.
About 311 power outages in Westport are being reported shortly after 2 p.m. by Eversource.
Police, in a 2 p.m. alert, urged motorists to avoid Compo Road South, between Post Road East and Thomas Road, which is blocked as firefighters are on the scene.
No other details about the incident were immediately available.
