WESTPORT — Bayberry Lane was closed to traffic early Tuesday for “emergency road work.”
The problem apparently is related to a water main break that occurred there last Friday, according to Lt. Eric Woods, the police spokesman.
On Friday, a break in a 16-inch water main break disrupted service to about 20 households in the Bayberry-Highland Road area, as well as forcing traffic detours as repairs were carried out.
There was no alert about the issue posted on the Aquarion water company’s website as of 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. No other information about the reasons for the road closure, or its duration, was immediately available.
