To the editor:

We are writing to express our enthusiastic support for David Rosenwaks in his campaign for a seat on the Representative Town Meeting in Westport.

We first met David when our children attended preschool together. He was always an energetic participant in the Parents’ Association, contributing his time and considerable energy to the school. More recently, our daughter played on a Rec soccer team that David coached with his characteristic patience and enthusiasm.

David has been an active and engaged member of our community for years. He’s an appointed member of the Westport Arts Advisory Committee and is passionate about supporting the arts and rich cultural history of Westport.

He can also frequently be seen at town meetings from the RTM, to the BOE and even the Board of Finance and P&Z. He’s not yet an elected official and already takes hours out of his week to stay well versed in town governance.

Westport is currently facing many complicated issues, from the Long Lots School project and how to maintain our Westport Community Gardens, to quality of life concerns like our aging infrastructure and traffic around town. We need individuals who will be able to approach problems with compassion, intelligence and good humor to find and implement collaborative and cost-effective solutions. David Rosenwaks is just such a person.

Neighbors like David represent the best in Westport. We know David will be an excellent member of the RTM and hope you give him your support on Nov. 7.
