Following is the obituary for MARY ANN BATSELL, submitted for her family by the Harding Funeral Home.

Mary Ann Batsell died unexpectedly on May 17, 2024.

She was raised and resided in the Westport area for over 70 years and will be remembered for her love of the beach, her gardens, her tireless energy and her wit.

Mary Ann will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends for her generous heart and willingness to help others.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori Batsell of Anna Maria Island, Fla.; her sisters, Sara of Fairfield and Jalna of Norwalk; her brothers, Rene of Woodinville, Wash., and Jonathan of Westport, as well as longtime companion, Joseph Nazzaro of Westport.

Friends may call at Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, on Thursday, May 23, between 4 and 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave., on Friday, May 24, at 10 a.m.
